ounded in 2013, Gallery3 is dedicated to promoting a wide spectrum of contemporary Korean art with a distinctive and innovative perspective. It is strategically located in Insa-dong, one of the most dynamic and diverse art districts of Seoul where crowds of art lovers, both international and local, gather. Number 3 stands for balance and harmony. Gallery3 believes that art is supported by three groups, the artists, the audience and the art dealers(gallery owners). Gallery3 is dedicated to offering satisfaction to all three groups of people and seeking balance and harmony among them.
Gallery3 has been showcasing works of both established and rising painters, as well as artists working in other mediums which are often overlooked in Korea. It takes its pride in presenting ceramics, sculptures, drawing, printing and glass works to the public regularly. Gallery3 also believes that art should be more accessible with a wider audience and enjoyed at home. This belief has led to building strong relationships with artists of fine craftsmanship through developing works which meets both aesthetical quality and functional needs.
Gallery3 attempts to represent contemporary Korean art not only through exhibitions within the gallery space, but also through supporting artists and the organization of outreach programs. Quality seminars and talks by guest speakers are welcomed by art lovers and these initiations have built solid recognition among young and rising galleries. Gallery3 will continue to commit to being a cultural voice of independent artists fostering the creation of new and experimental work.
